Opening reception was AMAZING!

Check out photos of the opening celebration that took place on September 6, 2013 at the MICA Graduate Studio Center. What an amazing opening with over 400 attendees! “CONGREGATE” brought so many people from all walks of life together. It was incredible seeing the excitement and enthusiasm of all the visitors! The artwork stimulated so much conversation about the meaning and importance of faith and community. We are excited about the new relationships that have been a result of this collaboration, it does not end here.

Congratulations to all participating artists in residence, congregations and CONGREGATE project team. THANK YOU for coming and supporting this ambitious project! The show is up until September 25 with additional upcoming programs. Stay tuned by visiting our website for program updates at www.congregatebaltimore.com.

Open Studio Tour and Ice Cream was a success!

Each participating artist in residence presented their work in progress to the congregations and public in their assigned place of worship on August 11, 2013. This was an opportunity for the community to get an inside look at the work and get a better understanding of the project “CONGREGATE art + faith + community”. After the open studios, everyone met at St. Michaels & All Angels for some ice cream and to get to meet the CONGREGATE team! Yay for ice cream!

This program was proudly sponsored by the MICA Office of Community Engagement.
